This past week was an eye opener. Myself and 14 other of the Cabinet and Furniture students went to the Carpentry Department to learn their way of constructing built-in cabinets. The Carcase is constructed of furniture grade plywood and it is trimmed in cherry with maple side panels.
It was great to learn to make quality cabinets with speed and accuracy, using good techniques and methods that, while different from furniture making, produce a great piece.
An excellent opportunity to add another skill!
