Tripod Table Project

As the year is fully underway, we are working on a traditional form of occasional table – the tripod table.

My idea is to reproduce a Shaker table built in the Hancock Shaker Village at Pittsfield, Massachusetts in or about 1830.  This project contains a turned column, legs dovetails into it, and finished with a traditional red stain.

The original table, currently in the collections of the Hancock Shaker Village Museum.
As always, every project begins with a detailed working drawing.
