Once everyone has their Tripod Tables in the finish room; we immediately went into the Chair Project. This is all well and good; however, my cherry wood did not want to work or play well with others; and after application, it blotched many of the more dense areas of the wood and left me with a mottled mess. After drafting the chair and much consultation with the instructors; I decided that my best course of action was to strip all of the dye stain off of the table and start over – as said by Henry Ford, failure is simply the opportunity to start again – this time more intelligently.
So, each day I spend some time sanding and then washing the Tripod Table with denatured alcohol while working on the Modern Chair.
